Year: 2023
Size: 400mm × 400mm
Media: Oil on canvas
Description:
The muskox, having coexisted with mammoths, persists to the present day, originating from the Günz Ice Age around 900,000 to 700,000 years ago. Adapted to extreme cold, their thick cloak-like fur can endure temperatures as low as 40°C below zero. In defence against wolf attacks, adult muskoxen organise in a protective circle with their sharply horned heads facing outward, placing their young in the centre for added security.
