In 2005, Yasue embarked on a tribute project inspired by the tragic events of 11 September 2001, when the World Trade Centre in New York fell victim to a terrorist attack. Yasue conceived and brought the “Cat’s Talk Statue of Liberty” to life as part of this commemorative endeavour. This captivating artwork, adorned with cats scattered around the iconic symbol of freedom, represents resilience and unity in adversity. The cats’ playful poses evoke a sense of cheer and support for New York, symbolizing the city’s indomitable spirit.
