Sakura-fubuki (Tokyo)
To many Japanese “Sakura” is more precious than gold.
In the 10 days or so each spring when the cherry trees come into bloom, visitors enjoy a festival of colour, often culminating in a “blossom-storm” if wind or rain accelerates the normal process of petals gently dancing to the floor.
Nowhere is more special than the cherry blossom “tunnel” on the banks of the Meguro River in Tokyo.
